Objective: Develop a model for the sustainable implementation of nursing interventions in the area of dementia care.

Methodological approach: A systematic review will be prepared in order to identify described facilitators and barriers to the implementation of nursing interventions in the area of dementia care. The facilitators and barriers elicited will be discussed in focus group interviews with practising caregivers in long-term care. The results will form the starting point for developing a model for the sustainable implementation of nursing interventions in the area of dementia care.

Current status: The systematic review was published in the BMC Geriatrics journal. Its methodological accompanying research is currently being undertaken retrospectively. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the focus group interviews will be conducted and analysed in early summer 2020. The partial results are continuously disseminated at national and international conferences (as at: 04/2020).
